Color Oklahoma
Color Oklahoma is a project of the Oklahoma Native Plant Society (ONPS). Our goal is to sow wildflower seeds, preserve wildflowers and grasses, and beautify roadsides, parks and other highly visible public areas in the state. We also will educate others about native plants. After all, they are part of our state’s heritage.

The mission of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is to manage Oklahoma's wildlife resources and habitat to provide scientific, educational, aesthetic, economic and recreational benefits for present and future generations of hunters, anglers and others who appreciate wildlife.

Keep Oklahoma Beautiful
Keep Oklahoma Beautiful is a statewide nonprofit with a mission to encourage, facilitate and recognize efforts that improve the aesthetic, environmental and sustainable quality of life in Oklahoma. Its mission is achieved through many programs such a the Great American Cleanup in Oklahoma and Fresh Paint Days. KOB also hosts annual workshops that educate community improvement groups and individuals interested in making a difference in their hometown on how to get started, get organized and get going. These workshops are presented as part of its Hometown Makeover - Community Improvement Guide.
Land Legacy
Land Legacy is a nonprofit land conservation organization established in January 2003 and located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Our mission is to conserve and enhance rural and urban landscapes, thereby improving the quality of life. Our work includes urban parks and trails, farm and ranch preservation, and water quality protection.
We also work with public agencies and other conservation organizations to establish long-term conservation goals and programs.
Land Legacy was established in partnership with the Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture, based in Poteau, Okla. Land Legacy serves the Southcentral United States.
Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
NRCS is the primary Federal agency that works with private landowners to help them protect their natural resources. NRCS conservationists spend most of their time on America's working land - cropland, pasture, rangeland, and forestland. The agency emphasizes voluntary, science-based conservation technical assistance; partnerships; incentive-based programs; and cooperative problem solving at the community level.
Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy is an international, non-profit, membership organization which seeks to preserve plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on earth. The Oklahoma Chapter operates preserves throughout the state including the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Presentations about TNC and the chapter's activities can be given. Volunteers are always needed. National magazine published quarterly; Oklahoma Chapter publishes annual report and offers field trip opportunities to its preserves.
Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)
DEQ offers environmental education assistance related to air, water and sustainability. Resources available for schools include grants, Use Less Stuff project ideas, curriculum materials, decals and posters. DEQ annually provides support for the H2Oklahoma Water Festival, ScienceFest, America Recycles Day and OSN Sustainability Conference along with many other activities.
Oklahoma Natural Areas Registry
The Oklahoma Natural Heritage Inventory (ONHI) is a central repository for information on Oklahoma's natural heritage. ONHI is charged with maintaining dynamic, geo-referenced databases of information on the state’s biological diversity, including rare and endangered species, species of special concern, and significant ecological communities.
Oklahoma's Biodiversity Project
The goal of our project is to provide landowners and industry with suggestions to incorporate biodiversity conservation into their practices without compromising their profitability. We address species other than endangered species or those used for sport.
