McLain Renewable Energy Program
Sustainable Tulsa has taken a vested interest and commitment in the renewable energy classroom opportunities for McLain High School for Science and Technology. Specifically, Sustainable Tulsa will be coordinating the implementation and longevity of a renewable energy system, a hands-on photovoltaic system that will energize the McLain Greenhouse. The photovoltaic system will provide a hands-on teaching tool for select math and science classes, career development programming, sustainable agriculture council, and the National and OK Green Schools program for McLain High School for Science and Technology and its students. Sustainable Tulsa has coordinated the partnership with Tulsa Community College Renewable Energy Design Class and McLain High School. McLain students will shadow the Tulsa Community College Design students on the design and installation of the system. Future McLain Classes will monitor the system.
